Sinopsis: Bangsa Romawi telah menginvasi Inggris Raya (Britania), tetapi salah satu desa masih tetap melawan invasi mereka. Dengan permintaan sepupu Inggris-nya, Anticimax, Asterix dan Obelix berangkat untuk membantu sepepupunya dengan membawa satu tong penuh ramuan ajaib.

Komentar: Dalam peristiwa pertempuran besar Vtelstatistix, tidak perlu ramuan ajaib untuk dapat mengalahkan Cassius Ceramic, yang diperlukan adalah sikap yang tepat. Hal yang sama berlaku bagi desa Mykingdomforaroe dalam buku ini. Setelah kehilangan ramuan ajaib, Asterix kemudian memperkenalkan penduduk desa tersebut untuk minum the untuk menggantikan ramuan ajaib. Karena kepercayaan diri mereka-lah yang memungkinkan mereka untuk menang.

Plot : The romans have invaded Britain, but one village still holds out against them. At British cousin Anticimax’s request, Asterix and Obelix set off to help with a barrel full of magic potion

Comments: In Big Fight Vtelstatistix did not need magic potion to defeat Cassius Ceramic. He just needed the right attitude. The same is true of Mykingdomforaroe’s village in this book. Having lost the magic potion, Asterix merely introduce the Britons to tea. Their belief in themselves allows them to win.

There is a moral here for those who wish to see it, about true strength lying within oneself. On the other hand it could be taken simply as a funny idea. The British are so mad about, tea that to them it is magic potion.

Asterix The Gaul

Plot: When Getafix is kidnapped by the Romans, Asterix penetrates their camp to rescue him, with hair-raising results

Comments: The first book establishes the main characters by allowing us to see them through the eyes of a roman spy. But those characters were to change. Some of them develop radically even in the space of this one book. At the start, for instance, Obelix wears an axe, and his menhir is an oddly uneven shape. Caesar goes through an even more dramatic metamorphosis between beginning and end.

Plot: Cerita dimulai ketika Getafix diculik oleh orang-orang Romawi, kemudian Asterix menembus perkemahan mereka untuk menyelamatkan dia.

Komentar: Buku pertama ini menetapkan karakter utama dengan mengizinkan kita untuk melihat mereka (Asterix dkk) melalui mata seorang mata-mata romawi. Dalam buku ini kita akan melihat perubahan karakter mereka berubah secara radikal seperti Obelix pada awalnya memakai sebuah kapak, dan Menhir denan bentuk yang aneh dan tidak rata. Perubahan pada Caesar berjalan lebih dramatis dengan menalami metamorphosis antara awal dan akhir.
